PRP is referred to the portion of blood-based components that can be spun and separated out of a traditional blood sample. The PRP process begins with a small blood draw- once drawn a centrifuge is utilized to spin and separate the components of your blood. This will allow Cheeky Alaska’s highly trained medical staff to take only the most beneficial, and organic, portions of the sample to jumpstart a healing process and rejuvenation wherever it is utilized on or in the body.

PRP hair restoration is a non-surgical treatment that uses your own blood components to jump-start growth and repair on various parts of the body and skin, including the hair. By using PRP on the scalp and hair, this treatment can promote natural hair growth. We start the treatment by drawing a small vial of your own blood. From here we place it in a centrifuge that spins the blood at high speeds to separate the different components. At this point, your “blood” is separated into red blood cells and plasma. The plasma is then injected into various areas among the scalp incorporating the growth factors in the plasma to jump-start the growth and healing process.
A series of treatments will be provided following proper consultation and assessment with our trained staff. Following each treatment, we will allow your body 4 weeks prior to any further treatment. This allows your body to heal and utilize the components of the injected PRP. This will allow your body to utilize the growth factors and utilize its own healing process to stimulate the hair follicles for optimal results. Though minimally invasive and requiring no downtime, it is normal to feel slight discomfort and redness at the injected areas- this resolves fully in 3-4 weeks with optimal results seen over 6-12 months.

How Is PRP Obtained?

One or two tubes of blood are drawn from an arm vein. These are then spun in a centrifuge for 10 minutes, separating the platelets’ plasma and growth factors from the rest of the blood. The PRP is then applied to the treated skin, either topically or by injection. Major benefits include improved skin texture and tone, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, regrowth and thickening of lost or thinning hair, and improvement of scar treatments and stretch mark treatments.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?
