How does it work?
It imitates a human hormone produced naturally by the gut, pancreas, and nervous system (GLP-1). The hormone targets areas of the brain that manage appetite, create a feeling of fullness, and enhance insulin production.
It helps by:
- Slowing down stomach emptying so that after eating, helps you to feel full for longer
- Suppresses appetite and food cravings (on average patients eat ~30% less)
- Lowers and stabilizes blood glucose levels (without making glucose levels too low like insulin)
