Everything About Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are soft tissues injected into the skin at different depths to make it fuller, smoother, and plumper. These injections in the face can fix several common signs of aging.
They can fill out lips that are getting thinner, make the under-eye area fuller and get rid of circles and hollows, fill in lines, static wrinkles, and folds, fix sagging skin and make pitted acne scars less noticeable.
You can also use them to do non-surgical nose jobs making your skin look smoother, fuller, and younger.
What Are The Kinds of Dermal Fillers?
Most providers offer a variety of dermal fillers for different problems. Still, you can ensure that all fillers are approved by the FDA and are made from either natural or artificial materials.
Hyaluronic acid is often used as the base for dermal fillers (HA). HA is a natural sugar in the eyes, skin, and joints. HA is a big part of keeping these areas moist and lubricated and helps keep the skin moist.
It is also a big part of keeping the skin healthy and helping wounds heal. Topical HA is often suggested for damages to help them heal and grow new skin.
Because HA is naturally found in the body, it is usually better than other fillers. There is a shallow risk of side effects or allergic reactions, and it is easier to absorb than some synthetic substances.
Radiesse is made of calcium-based microspheres that add volume immediately and help your natural collagen do its job. Not only does it work right away, but it also encourages natural collagen growth around the injection site, which makes the skin look fuller and more lifted.
Radiesse is excellent for fixing nasolabial folds, marionette lines, corners of the mouth, pre-jowls, and shaping the jawline. Most of the time, the effects of Radiesse last up to a year.
The Aesthetic version of Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps your body produce more collagen. Sculptra takes weeks or even months to show results, but they last longer than those from other injectables.
With Sculptra, you may need several sessions spread out over many months to get the desired results, but the results can last up to 2 or three years.
Bellafill is not generally on the list. But it is an injectable collagen gel that uses polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres to add volume and lift immediately. Bellafill reduces the look of atrophic acne scars and increases collagen production, filling fine lines and wrinkles.
It lasts longer than HA fillers because it doesn’t get reabsorbed by the skin. Bellafill is also made with collagen from cows, so a skin test is needed to see if there is an allergy. Most people need two sessions to get the desired result.
At Cheeky Medspa, our line of premium dermal fillers includes industry-leading products like JUVÉDERM. This gives you an advanced way to fix the signs of aging without the risk of going under the knife!
JUVÉDERM® is a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that are injected. They can treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds for up to a year, and Voluma can treat the cheeks for up to two years. Treatments take little to no time to heal, and the lidocaine in these products makes them more comfortable.
Dermal fillers from the JUVÉDERM® family can fill in wrinkles and add volume to hollows and flattened areas to make you look younger and more natural. The consistency of the gels has been fine-tuned so that they can smooth out wrinkles and folds in a way that looks and feels like young skin.
Besides, JUVÉDERM® is an anti-aging treatment that the FDA has fully approved. It restores the deepest lines and wrinkles and makes the skin look smooth and beautiful.
At Cheeky, we sell fillers from different brands. Each has unique properties, so you can get treatments that are just right for you.
What To Expect?
The first thing you need to do to get dermal fillers is to set up a meeting with your practitioner. During this first appointment, you and your doctor will discuss what you like and don’t like about your skin, your goals, and how realistic you think they are.
After you’ve talked to your doctor in-depth and they’ve decided which product is best for you, you can schedule your treatment. Dermal filler injections are non-invasive and don’t require surgery. They can be done in your doctor’s office while you are asleep.
After the anesthetic has been put on, your chosen product will be injected into the area of concern. Your doctor will then massage the area to ensure the product is spread evenly. Most treatments for dermal fillers take between 15 and 20 minutes.
Since this is a non-invasive procedure, there isn’t much time to rest after a filler treatment. You may have some minor swelling and bruising at the injection site, but this should go away in about a week and can usually be covered with makeup.
Most people go back to their regular lives on the same day. After treatment, you should stay out of the sun, don’t work out, and don’t drink alcohol for at least 24 hours. Your doctor will tell you this and any other steps you need to take to get better quickly.
Should There Be Something To Avoid?
In the week before your dermal filler appointment, you shouldn’t take ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamin E, or fish oil supplements because they can make bruising or bleeding worse. You can still take paracetamol if you need to, though.
But if you are on a prescription drug with aspirin, don’t stop taking it. Instead, it would help if you talked to your doctor or a practitioner first.
Dermal fillers are not a good idea if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor or nurse about when it’s safe to have them.
